Dear Santa

Presents

Presents by Alice Harold

Dear Santa,

I haven't been perfect this year, but I have been pretty darn good. I've stuck to my word counts, cut out TV, and I think I haven't sworn once on my blog (but I could be wrong). I've been waking up early, and man, have I been working hard at the office.

I'm not sure you answer letters from adults, but it's been a long while since I've written. Do you remember me? I asked you for a puppy every year until I was 12, but you never brought me one. It was all I wanted and I think you owe me.

This year I only want one thing. Please Santa, send me more time to write.

Oh I know you'll make excuses. You'll tell me that your elves don't know that particular recipe, or say that time management is not your area of expertise, but you deliver gifts to good boys and girls round the world in a single night. A single night! I think you have some tricks up those jolly red sleeves.

Trust me, this is the easiest gift I could ask you for. I didn't ask for an agent or a publisher. (Imagine the trouble wrapping them up in that big red sack!) I'm perfectly happy to find those on my own. All I need is time.

And no, don't try sending me a puppy now. I'm on to you Santa.

XoXo,

Theresa

PS I'm going to take a bloggy break and see you back here in January. Happy Holidays!

AWWW lol. Now I feel guilty thinking about how that's probably exactly what I would have asked for...

  • LOL! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

  • I hope Santa brings you what you want. I remember asking Santa for a Sega Mega Drive for about 4 years straight and it never came. Then a few years back I bought one from a charity shop for a mere £10. I then played it till my eyes ached and I felt sick. Ha - I sure showed him!

  • I hope your christmas wish comes true. :)

  • Aww...That's the sweetest message to Santa, ever! I'm sure he'll listen.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you too. :)

Christmas morning T.S. awoke to find a mystery package beneath the tree. It was addressed from "Saint Nick" himself. It weighed greatly, but when unwrapped, she found the box nearly empty, save a single piece of paper. It read, "Enjoy your insomnia."

Nice Wishes; I hope the new year brings you your pressies.

God jul och ett gott ny år (Swedish greetings).

    • T.S. Bazelli says:

      Kala Hristouyienna! (In Greek)
      Maligayang Pasko (In Tagalog)

      Cheers Aidan!

      • I was familiar with the Swedish and Greek (last year, when I had a whiteboard in my cube, I wrote up "Merry Christmas" in as many languages as I could fit; I had to look most of the greetings up online, of course; this year I don't have a whiteboard), but the Tagalog was new to me.

        Joyeux Noel.

        • T.S. Bazelli says:

Hehe now I'd like to hear you pronounce them all ;)

          • I could probably manage the Swedish passably up until "ny år", at which point the vowels become completely mysterious. On the other hand, the vowels that look normal could be deceiving me, too. The others are romanized, I think, so I anticipate that I could handle them okay. Though I'd still sound like an uneducated foreigner in my attempts.

I used to be able to do French with a passable French Accent (or so I was told by a foreign exchange teacher from France), but it has been a while.

Cute letter! I hope he listens and brings you more time - even though I'll be a bit jealous if he does ;)

I think these stains may be permanent.
